Say your doing about 30-40mph in 4th, I put my foot down and it seems to stutter or misfire. I will do it in other gears at low speed also, but once the speed has been built up, it goes fine. First thing I'd do is run some transmission fluid through the engine to clean it up. Add 1 quart to the oil and drive the car for a day. Change the oil and filter. Use the cheapest oil you can find.
